At Sea - Captain Makes Evasive Manuvers

 So what could make the captain announce at lunch time that he was going to alter our course to Puerto Madryn and head into the wind and back and forth for a while?  Mosquitos!!  About 10:00 in the morning the ship was suddenly inundated with a swarm of mosquitos.  They invaded the outer eating areas and the inner patios area that had been opened to the beautiful warm weather.  After about 2 hours or so of still dealing with the staff and guests swatting and running from the mosquitos the captain finally decided that everyone had had enough and decided to try to head into the wind to try and blow them away.  Everyone had by this time retreated to indoor areas to keep from getting bitten.  The poor crew was busy trying to set up for meals and help at the pool and were grateful for the captain's efforts.  It really didn't seem to help much but and by this time everyone was inside. The captain later announced that the ship would be fumigated to get rid of the still circulating mosquitos of which there were many.  By morning the problem seemed to be solved and once again the patios and eating areas were opened and it seemed safe to go back on our balconies.  Man against tiny beasts!

Amazing that this could happen 30 miles offshore in the midst of all that salt water.
