Getting Underway

 Itinerary of the South American Cruise: February 2024

Cruising February 11 - 29, 2024

As we embark on this journey the world news includes information on a massive fire and damage in the Valparaiso, Chile area with many homes destroyed and lives lost.  This is our last port.  We are also hearing that the avian flu is starting to affect the penguin population in South America with penguins being identified in the Falkland Islands and Antarctica.

We fly from San Diego to Atlanta to Sao Paulo, Brazil to Buenos Aires, Argentina....will be a long day - 22 hours in flying time.  We arrive in Buenos Aires at 10:05 in the morning.  Buenos Aires is 5 hours ahead of San Diego time.  Two hours ahead of Norfolk, Virginia.

During our trip we will miss Nate's graduation from Officer school in Rhode Island and the announcement from Kimberley and Nate on the sex of their first baby who is arriving in early July.
